Wednesday, February 5th, was a day of play for HES future leaders! Each classroom played for a minimum of 1 hour. Global School Play Day is nationally recognized for restoring unstructured play to a generation of kids. In 2015, a small group of six educators took action and created Global School Play Day because of their concern that adults and technology were encroaching on playtime for children. In his TEDx lecture, Peter Gray clearly argues the case that today's kids do not grow up playing and this has negatively impacted them in many ways. It's time we return the gift of play to this generation.
